This movie was really good.The story was nice and cruel,songs in the movie were touching.The movie had abit of brutal scenes too.Didn't expect it to end like it did actually....not a fair ending in my opinion.. I don't want to give anything away whatsoever and spoil the viewing enjoyment for anyone. So I have just one thing to say:This film is superb. Well worth watching and makes you think.. I'm have a cold and I just wanted to watch a silly cartoon... Instead I got subjected to a fishy version of watership down.No, I don't read the box before I watch...No, I didn't see what it was before I baught it...Yes, I did enjoy it. But now i'm sick AND sad.. When I first saw this film many years ago, I was but a middle schooler and this movie shocked me into another dimension because of how brutal and realistically the lives of fish in captivity were portrayed. Being Korean-American, I do remember going to the ghetto restaurants such as the one in the movie near a coastal area in South Korea as a child, and that is what makes this movie even freakier for me. I don't particularly enjoy eating raw fish either and the smell of ocean back in Korea disgusted me so that added to this experience of horror. I had a lot of mixed feelings for this movie and the way they animated things (adding different animation styles in between). This movie had a disturbing amount of metaphors and I was in awe and disgust of the ugliness of this. But the truth is ugly so the uglier this film is, the closer it is to visualizing the truth. And it was very well done despite the trauma it left me. Whether it's Korean or Japanese, or some other Asian animation, I always wonder how people who are not familiar with the culture will react to it because this is some next level traumatic♥♥♥♥♥♥ That's why I recommend it though. Give it a go and get some enlightnment because the metaphor can be applied to any culture really.. quot;It almost made me think twice before eating sushi."Pros: It's a very dark version of what folks are saying of "Finding Nemo." For those of you who do not know what that is, I can probably say that this is an animation movie (w/ random musicals!) that breathes life into the characters and takes you on a rollercoaster of a ride emotionally.Cons: Definitely not for those who prefers a happy ending or feel good movie. This is some wicked stuff.Overall: Worth seeing at least once. Very unexpected find!
